- Mikumi National Park Tanzania’s fourth-biggest national park which covers  3260sqkms. It’s additionally the most open from Dar es Salaam about 300kms. With confirmed wildlife sighting, it makes a perfect safari goal for those who are busy and have less time to travel, two days or more can get you an opportunity and organised to explore the splendor of mikumi national park.

- Ruaha National Park west of Iringa town in south-central Tanzania, the park is located at an elevation of 2,500 to 5,200 feet (750 to 1,900 m) and covers an area of 5,000 square miles (12,950 square km) and was originally part of the Rungwa Game Reserve. The name of the park is derived from the Great Ruaha River which flows along its southeastern margin and is the focus for game-viewing, more than 571 species of birds have been identified in the park.  The park was formerly known for its large elephant population.  

- Udzungwa mountains Nationa Park is a national park in Tanzania with a size of 1,990 km2 .The habitats contained within the national park include tropical rainforest, mountain forest, miombo woodland, grassland and steppe. There is a vertical height range of 250–2,576 metres (the peak of Lohomero), which incorporates the Udzunwa mountains part of the Eastern Arch Mountains. There are more than 400 bird species, 2500 plant species (25% of which are endemics) and 6 primate species. It has the second largest biodiversity of a national park in Africa. Six primate species have been recorded in the park, five of which are endemic. The Irinda red colobus and Sanje Crested Mangabey are only found in the Udzungwa Mountains National Park, the mangabey species was undetected by biologists prior to 1979. The most common walk is the Sanje waterfalls trail which takes approximately four hours to complete and allows the visitor access to the stunning 170 m waterfall and includes swimming in the waterfall plunge pools as part of the activity.    

 

 

Itinerary:

Day1: Dar es salaam ------- Mikumi National Park
Meet and pick up at 07:00am, drive to Mikumi National Park about 290kms which takes approx. 5 hours. Upon your arrival in Mikumi Park Cottage your hot lunch is already prepared, rest a little bit and start the game drive watching Hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffalos, giraffes, elands, Impalas, zebra, lions and other animal till sunset, dinner and overnight at Mikumi Park Cottage. (Meals plan: Lunch/Dinner).

Day2: Mikumi National Park --------- Iringa town
Sunrise game drive at 06:00am before breakfast for 2 and half hours, then back to Mikumi Park cottage for full breakfast rest a bit and proceed with the game drive lunch spotting the large concentrations buffalos, giraffes, elands, wildebeests, lions and etc. Also visiting the Hippo pools where you get out of the vehicle and take the pictures at a close distance, after hot lunch at 13:00hrs drive from Mikumi National Park to Iringa town for dinner and overnight at Zakinn Hotel. Day3: Ruaha National Park
After breakfast at 07:30 drive from Iringa town to Ruaha National Park about 136kms approx. 2hours only, Upon your arrival in Ruaha Park Cottage your hot lunch is already prepared, rest a little bit and wondering the Ruaha river as lots of animals drift here for a water drink. Afterward continue with game drive watching Hippos, crocodiles, elephants and other animals including giraffes, zebras, and kudus, impalas, ostriches gerenuks, leopards and more than 350 different species of birds till sunset, dinner and overnight at Ruaha Park Cottage.(Meals plan: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner).

Day4: Ruaha National Park
Sunrise game drive, for 2-3 hours then back to Ruaha Park Cottage for full breakfast and proceed with game drive through the river observing more wildlife come drift for the water drink for full day with packed lunch, dinner and overnight at Ruaha Park Cottage.(Meals plan: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner).

Day5: Ruaha National Park
On this day you will spend another full day game drive to explore and experience more about the wildlife, option in the morning walking safari with an armed ranger; options either to take packed lunch with you or during mid noon to come back Ruaha Park cottage for hot lunch, dinner and overnight at Ruaha Park Cottage.(Meals plan: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner).

Day6: Ruaha National Park ------- Udzungwa Mountains National Park
After breakfast at 07:30am, drive from Ruaha National Park to Udzungwa Mountain National Park via the Maasai village tour observing their life style, culture, dancing and handcrafts introduced by the elders, hot lunch on the way, upon your arrival at Twiga Park Lodge for dinner and overnight short rest and easy trek to St. Bernard waterfalls. (Meals plan: Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner).

Day7: Udzungwa mountains National Park---------- Dar es salaam
Early morning breakfast at 07:30am, then start trekking Sanje waterfalls 200m 7 hours(ascending and descending) via the fabulous view point overlooking the Kilombero plains through the tropical rain forest watching different primates including velvet monkeys, blue, red iringa colobus monkeys and Sanje crested mangabey, more than 450 different species of birds not found anywhere in East Africa. At the pool of waterfalls is natural wonderful you for swimming. After lunch drive back to Dar es salaam. (Meals plan: Breakfast/Lunch).
