Khao Yai National Park with Waterfall & Hiking

Khao Yai National Park with Waterfall & Hiking

Bangkok, Thailand

There is no doubt that Khao Yai is the best National Park in Thailand. The park covers more than 2,000 square kilometres of grassland and forest and is easily accessible from Bangkok. It shelters diverse wildlife such as bears, gibbons, hornbills and much more. Much of this area is actually in the UNESCO World Heritage List too.

This lovely full day tour will take you into the Khao Yai National Park where you will visit magnificent viewpoints, stop at its very well-known waterfall, enjoy some easy but fascinating jungle hiking and very likely see some of the park's inhabitants in their natural surrounds.

After a complimentary hotel pick-up from centrally located Bangkok hotels, tour will being about 6:30am. The first stop is inside Khao Yai National Park at KM 30 Viewpoint at Thanarat Road. At this area, you will be able to capture the broad and beautiful scenery of the northern part of Khao Yai National Park.

Next is a walk of around 2 hours passing impressive sized trees and wildlife. The easy 3km. trail heads to the Nong Pak Chi Wildlife Observation Tower to spot many species of wildlife. There is a salt lick close to the tower to attract wildlife to the area, along with a lake, open grassland and forest.

At lunch time, you will be served a Thai lunch menu together with seasonal fruits and bottled water at a local restaurant. Then, make a visit at Khao Yai National Park Visitor Centre at the park headquarters. It contains information and interpretive facilities to assist in visitor's appreciation of the park. The Visitor Centre also includes exhibits on the natural environment and wildlife of Khao Yai.

We continue to visit the mighty Haew Suwat Waterfall which contains plenty of shady tree spots to sit under and many large rocks to lie down and relax. This is where you can revel in the glory of nature as you marvel at the water gushing over the fall. The jump scene from the Leonardo DiCaprio movie 'The Beach' was filmed here, however, the reality is that swimming is not actually allowed here.

After a day seeing nature at its best, you will leave back to Bangkok at about 3.00pm. to arrive by approximately 6.30pm.
